She yelps and falls on her ass. In the split second between falling and getting up, the robot is up and crouched over her. Tate looks up into that shining face, light running off her like liquid, and sees two illuminated eyes looking back.She lets out a shaky breath, and she could swear that the robot smiles.“Hello, Tatiana,” it says in a voice like blood-warm honey, “I’ve been waiting for you.”
